Does anyone know how to keep the xbox on for more than one hour because the power lead keeps turning off. I press the green button on the lead and then in a around one hour the button goes back up and the xbox turns off. Please help me.

probably a fault somewhere,if its within warranty juz bring the whole thing back to where you got it.
***Not Recommended***= you could get something to keep the button from popping up!

Wasn't there a recall on XBox power leads coz there was a change the X-Box could cause a fire? The new ones are big bulky ones with a circut breaker AFAIK.

Depends on the lead you get. The new lead is designed to cut out when a arcing is detected across the the PSU connection points. Mabye your Xbox is arcing after being left on for a while.

The easiest way to solve this would be to open it up a resolder the points.

Only open the console if its out of warranty. If its in warranty just bring the whole thing back..

you could try www.siyucom.com to fix it. the site looks diff now but they used to do it so just contact them if your interested..

and yuri don't get something to keep the button from popping up , as thats what it is meant to do under fault conditions.

Only certain Xbox PSU are affected, so they don't all need an expensive lead.

If you have a 1.0 or 1.1 you should get the lead. 1.3s and above are fine.

The lead is only to prevent a fire, your xbox will still fry if it happens.
