The words 'good' and 'cheap' don't really go that well together when it comes to hosting.

Also depends what you mean by cheap. www.digitalspace.net will give you a few megs for $5/month, but their service isn't very reliable.

It's all relative. If you only want HTML and a bit of CGI you can get reliable hosting for as low as $4/month, but when you start asking for more the sky is the limit.
    What exactly do you need?
    How much space?
    UNIX or Windows?
    PHP,ASP, CGI?
If you gave a bit more detail it would be easier to answer your post as there are so many hosting companies popping up all over the place.

I can sort you out with hosting for $50 a year, you will get 500mb space, ASP,PHP,CFM and for a extra $25 you can get access to SQL 2000 server

    >Read the small print<, If you are looking to build a successful site with many visitors you could recieve HUGE traffic bills for exceeding throughput limits.

There are many .dot coms out there, and you will get alot of advice from people who have never incurred a bill of this sort because they have never created a successfully promoted site or work for someone else who pays the bills.

The devil is in the detail. If it is a small operation ignore this, if you are doing it for someone else then take heed - your choice could damage you reputation and business.
