Im on esat bt business broadband, however, I have a slight problem.

I can't seem to ping an ip but I can still connect to the site.

It's the same for traceroute it just doesn't work. It's getting a little anooying at this stage.

Just to let you good folks know, I'm not behind a firewall either.

the site might be blocking your pings, and traceroutes..
They obviously dont want you poking at them..

why would you need to ping the site??

Esat were/are known to filter ICMP.

However it could well be the site you are pinging and not esat.

No, not a site that was an example. It's got to do with a counter-strike server(S)

Yeah but did'ent it just filter ping requests to Business IP's rather then requests from Business IP's/Lines to other servers?

Have you set your modem to allow ICMP packets into your network ?
