    This is kind of related to the following sticky...

    ...and is a followon from this thread...

    ===========================================

    I have tried all kinds of everything to get my existing wireless router (Symantec Gateway Security 300) working with NTL but they simply do not want to talk to each other. I'm at the stage where I can't lose anymore time trying the same tshooting steps over & over (there is only a certain amt of combinations of steps that are possible!).

    I need to purchase a new wireless router asap that I know will work with NTL cable.

    Any recommendations, from your experiences, on a wireless router that works without issue, with NTL cable?

    All feedback greatly appreciated! :D

    I'm using the 3Com officeconnect wireless router with NTL cable. It worked straight out of the box, without any configuration whatsoever. Setting up security took less than 5 mins (128bit WEP). I got the offer on Komplett, with the USB dongle.

    Thanks Shane, I've just read some other reviews of that router and, this in combination with your recommendation has led me to ordering myself one! :)

    Lets hope it goes as smoothly for me!!

    Make sure you are using good quality ethernet cable, as the NTL modem can be a bit peculiar about that. There are hidden settings you can get into with the modem.. I posted a fix for this on NTL:HELL, but i'm fecked if I can remember my password.. I'll check later if you want.

    Yes, the NTL cable modem will only release a single IP address. However- the 3Com Office connect router is also a DHCIP server- so thats not an issue. It also comes with a 1.5m length of decent ethernet cable- so you're sorted on that front too.

    The big thing to remember is TURN ON SECURITY........

    I found the Netgear614 to work perfectly out of the box with my NTL cable modem. As for security: http://blogs.zdnet.com/Ou/index.php?p=43

    I've got the DI-624+ D-link wireless router from IT Direct for 78 euro. Wireless and 4 LAN 100 ports. Works perfectly with my NTL cable modem.
