Suppose being a comedian Me, Myself Irene was probably his best but in a "serious" role I thought he was very good in the truman show

I spose the best film he was in was Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. Whether that was his best performance is up for bebate. I liked him in The Mask (ah childhood memories), The Truman Show and The Cable Guy.

id say he could actualy be a good serious actor after the truman show he impressed me a lot
but with his zany ways the comedy films stand out more.

Meh! Liar Liar was pretty good, but got too sweet and soppy near the end!

i havnt seen the grinch or lemony snickets but i can say i enjoyed all the rest of them. me myself and irene probably the most but saying that i can think of so many great things about the others. ie the cable guy when he kicks the crap out of owen wilson in the toilet and he does the "skip-a-do-bop" thingy. hahahaha

Jim carrey is a good actor but ive not seen one of his films that i would watch again. Most are good but i wouldnt buy any on DVD for my collection.
Also the cable guy is probably one of the worst films ive ever seen!

From my own point of view, I'd definitely have to say 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind', although unfortunately there's surprisingly few good Carrey movies to choose from. He's been around long enough to have done much more. Sure, look at Colin Farrell ... ... ...

in a comedic role i'd say its a tie between dumb and dumber & ace ventura pet detective, both those films are classics
lloyd christmas - what a character!

there's so many great lines in ace ventura, i could watch that so many times -

two of the worst films ever were dumb and dumber and the cable guy!
the best Jim Carey has to be me myself and Irene, that was brilliant. Liar, Liar was ok, died towards the end as already metinoned and haven't seen enough of the others to make a judegement but what I did see of pet detective I liked.

The Majestic , iv rented it about 3 times but never get round to watching it. supposed to be very good.
Earth girls are easy , never seen it tho all i know is he's a red alien or something in it.

liar liar - the courtroom scene is ****ing hilarious
me, myself and irene - hmmn.. ok film, but carrey is great, especially the cock in the car scene.. hah!
Ace ventura - SO over the top its brilliant.
dumb and dumber - class, possibly my fav comedy.
eternal sunshine, man on the moon, truman show - great, emotional understated performances. considering carrey and his madcap ability for physical comedy, its particularly impressive.

One of my favourite actors if not my favourite....

Dumb & Dumber is one of my all-time favourites...I must have seen it around 15 times over the years and I'm still in stitches, absolutely priceless! (That scene with the chilli springs to mind!...And the Seabass scenes...lol)

Ace Ventura 2...Classic!

In his more serious films he was fantastic in the Truman Show & Eternal Sunshine.
