Hey i know this probally asked like a 100 times but maybe ya could make a list this time or something.

I'm looking for free webspace (banners prefereable over pop-ups) that supports cgi bins n the like. Only starting to use it sooooo...

www.f2s.com is great.. no annoying banners or popup adds.. it's free, they give you a cgi bin, and they allow server side scripting (php, etc.)

Some of those sites don't have cgi bins which is what i kinda need.

They're having some problems, in particular with spammers using their servers to do UBE broadcasts.

Signups are expected to be opened up again from the 27.vii.2001.

My only complaint with f2s, to date, has been that their firewall precludes opening remote (non-f2s) URLs from a script. A good few of the apps I write make use of remote data and so this is an issue for me.

Ahh! So thats why I couldn't fetch news from slashdot! Does anyone know a hosting service ( free, naturally! ) that will allow php scripts to access remote URLs?

Anyone have a place for just no-nonsense webspace?
I just wanna make a few pics, files and stuff available (donkey pr0n mostly), but haven't been having much luck.
I also need the FTp details for any sites your using, as in the server, if my pages domain is www.syxpak.whatever.com is the FTP server ftp.syxpak.whatever.com or what?
I'm seriously perplexed on this cos I have my site practicly finished except for publishing it.........

Most sites give you the address of the FTP,
and your username +password, if they don't give this info there is a small chance that they don't have FTP.
Your ftp address is not always the same as your address as they usually just use the same one and then decide with your user name and password.

But just incase ya can't find the ftp then here are some i had handy:
