Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
does anyone know what's the story in relation to royalties when using music in a film production ? Do you have to get permission from the record company ? etc....
    cheers.

Short answer is yes, best solution to this issue is approach someone who has music you already know and ask them in a legally binding way for permission to use the music for a once off fee. There's a million tracks which are not subject to record company contract on the net and only require the permission of the artist to use.

You'll need two types of permission for music. One is permission to use the music and the other is permission to use & alter the music if you plan on cutting altering or adjusting the track. E-mail the contact for the respective company for both of these rights. An brief description of your aims for why you need this and some information about your production will help. Be as professional as possible when approaching.
