IBB looking for testers for 2Mb product

Do IBB support members visit these boards often, cause I have a serious problem with the speeds on my connection, and my ping is all over the place

Coincidence that IBB start testing a new 2MB service and clients not involved in the test start to experience problems? My 1024Kbit service has gone to a 100~250Kbit service overnight!

I got selected as part of the quota of testers... sent the info required to the email address supplied in the PM from oldtitan, and used the email title he supplied, and yet i didn't get upgraded to 2meg.

I got a PM from him earlier asking if it was done yet, and if it wasn't he'd do it today. I replied at 11 am (ish) and as of yet no 2meg. :rolleyes:

I agree with Drapper, download and upload speeds have been great!

But I'm gutted about my Ping issue... I thought it might have been my PC so I stayed up all night formatting. Unfortunately, same problem. At least I can definitely say it's not a problem at my end!

If my Ping becomes stable again I'll be the happiest internaut in Ireland!

Sorry Mutant_Fruit but we recently changed passwords to the radios and I haven't the latest. I requested them from NetOps, but it seems as if they are enjoying a long week-end. Will get it done soonest.

The purpose of the test, just to clarify, is to test 2Mb a an entry level Boradband product to replace our current 1Mb as an entry level product.

Hrmm... Thats very interesting.

At the moment i'm paying 48eur a month for 1meg. I was hoping i'd end up paying less after this upgrade (and probably remain on 1meg). Is this going to happen? Or is everyone being bumped to 2meg and paying 48eur still?

Titan, just wondering. for how long will the testing last?

Its been mighty good up to today. havent done any ping tests but download speeds were in the 250 region over the weekend, however, it appeared to drop back to normal today.

Reguardless, thanks titan. tis nice to have the extra bandwidth.

was using the gf's 1mb breeze in dundrum today.

Absolutely crap, download speeds? hahaha. not funny, and pints were about 50% packet loss and about 700ms average.

I'm more interested in pings rather than download speed. I'd prefer to stay 1mb and get pings like before than going 2mb and getting ridiculous pings.

Ping are great on the 2mb package around 25 to UK servers ! I had a lower ping than my mate who are in the UK on BT and NTL pacakages !
