multiple simulaneous phone calls

    NTL users in particular might be interested in this tidbit. Emailed a few questions to Bluface.ie about VOIP and the open source PBX asterisk.

    Turns out that with that combination you could have multiple simultaneous phone calls on the one 01 number both coming in and going out - no need for call waiting or lines tied up.

    They'd be pissed off if you tried to run 30 conference based calls though. :cool:

    seriouly shi, thats pretty good, do you make extension numbers for everyone or do the calls get routed sequentially to the next availble phone ip?

    Have only briefly looked at asterisk but seems to be very programmable, operates like man PBXs so you could round robiin calls perhaps or do call pickup.

    Thinking of running it at home to get a chance at phone calls when wife is rabbiting on for hours to her mother.
