Yeah definatly go with BTs offer.. On Smarts track record your 6 months could well be up by the time Smart get the exchange live...
Thats what i've done, just waiting on them to contact me.

I found them very fast,(Smart could learn a thing or 2 here) connected within 9 days...

The Whitehall exchange is 'still causing problems, as they can't get their equipment in there', they don't know when it's going to go live. At least they're not making up dates anymore, but it doesn't leave us any better off. I want to go with Smart, but at this point I will have to look at other options.

Smart have now changed their online exchange checker, no more dates are given and are now replaced with ' this exchange is on our current Network Build Programme this Year' lol.

"This exchange is on our current Network Build Programme for this year.
If you would like to avail of this amazing offer, please sign-up below and we will contact you as soon as your exchange becomes available"

That really sounds negitive to me ...Could be Christmas by the sound of it...How do you write something that negitive & put "AMAZING OFFER" in the middle of it...
I was thinking of placing an ad in the Northside People.. it would go something like this
"Reliable ISP wanted to cover the north Dublin area. Experience desireable but not essential as the previous ISP hadn't a clue..Salery negotiable, bonus payable for any exchane you can manage to get live by the end of the year. The ideal canditate will have some experience (hopefully) in the IT sector & must be capable of lying & bulls***ing 100000 potential customers on an ongoing basis...Smart & Garfield need not apply....We are an equal oppertunitier employer.. We treat EVERYONE like S**T"

PS thought this was funny on Smarts ordering page
"NOTE: Please provide accurate details to avoid any delay in processing your order"
As if it will give a toss!!!

Encouraging thread... and I don't have the courage to read through all of it....

Smart got my application about two months ago. I got one call from them, confirming they got my application and that my exchange was not yet enabled due to the "Eircom lawsuit" thing... No communication since then and I haven't bothered contacting them on the back of threads like this....

I'm on North Main, which was supposed to be live April/May.

    It now reads:

"Your phone number 01xxxxxx is in the exchange NORTH MAIN. Broadband will be available to you in the near future".

What the hell does "near future" mean?!

I'm sorry to post comments that probably have been covered but anyone have any idea what's happening to North Main? Searching this thread doesn't seem to work for me...

Unless you are on 1 of the 5 exchanges mentioned above, then you have very little chance of getting Smart BB this side of those court cases with eircom!

Most people onlu get about 1.72 on eircom bitstream products (eircom/BT/UTV).
Pretty nice even though you are only one of a couple of hundred who have Smart BB.
