Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I guess the subject pretty much says it - I'm looking to connect a windows 98 PC to a wireless network, and USB would be the most covenient route (since the manual for the PC is no longer available, I'd be hesitant about opening it up to install a PCI card). However, most dongles I've looked at say they support Windows 98SE - are there issues with the original 98 or something? It has USB ports...would a dongle that supports 98SE likely work with Windows 98 anyway?

    Many thanks for any help!

edit - having had a closer look at the PC itself, I really really don't want to open it! The case is all screwed together..I'd be very wary about opening it to put in a pci card.

You're better off trying a few dongles until you find one that suits you.
I can lend you mine for testing :) PM me if you live close enough to stop by and pick it up.

    Cheers,

Usually they only say 98SE for a reason, they don't support 98. Of course, there's always a chance.. I guess the best you can do is buy one and try it out. Just make sure you buy it in a shop and not online so you have a decent returns policy.

The Sitecom USB wireless network adapter works with Windows 98. I did it only recently.

This is the cheap one that is in Maplins.

Thanks for the offer JoyPad - very much appreciated! - but I think it's easiest to give the maplin recommendation a go.

Cheers for the info monkeyfudge - lifesaver! :)
