Microsoft own 10% of Imersion corp and has bought the license, so there safe. Not sure how Nintendo fair out.

Ico and Ape Escape are among the titles being blocked. They're pretty much the best games on the PS2.

Does anyone know what the nature of the patent is? It must mean more than just vibration.

This is just a district court anyway. It can be appealed much higher yet.

Its a patent in the way the pad is made and works, Ninty have their own from Star Fox days so they safe.

Cause they didn't pay for the license to use the technology that Immersion Corp had already patented.

Nintendo were granted a free licence to use it, MS settled out of court.

    google rocks :D

Nintendo have their own tech from way back then. I know the Lylat wars rumble pack was theres maybe thats how they got by it. They could always argue that they invented that before vibrating pads and thus including them inbuilt was just the next step.

Hmm well prior art would **** imersion right up as Sony could argue the patent is null and void due to the fact that others had used it before the patent, should be interesting.
