toddler biting nails

    my two and a half year old is biting nails hands and occasionally feet! whats the correct way to deal with this. cant buy solution for child under 5 in chemist. :confused:

    mustard, get the powerder based mustard ad make up a very weak soluation.

    Just one of the yukki habit behaviours kids have.

    Nail noshers: 40% of kids age 5-18 :o years do.
    Reasons: To unwind, reduce stress, boredom, & pass the time.
    Problem: Gunk teeming with bacteria > into system & also leads to chewing cuticle, thus risk of inflammation / 'whittle'.

    Paint awful tasting stuff on if child game, otherwise forget as will wash it off.

    Use psychology with reward: ;) Prevent 'stressed cold turky' :eek: ,
    Suggest "bite left hand only, and 1- 2 weeks later say "look at the difference" & provide supply of veg snacks to nibble and/or sugar free gum. :D

    cheers for that info. will try the mustard and hope for best. too young to reason with yet but will have a go too
