Hi I Have Just Recieved A Letter From Eircom This Morning To Say Caps Are Going Up From 4gb To 8gb With New Speeds Coming On Stream On April 2nd Between 10pm And 8am :

This is good news. Any Home Starter Plus customers get the letter?

Would've thought they'd make more of this. Glanced at the site and doesn't seem to be any change there. Are they trying to slide it in without their competitors noticing? I'm sure IOL/others have noticed from places like this. If not they'll notice when the e-mails start to arrive saying that Eircom have upgraded...

so speeds come in effect on 2nd? does that apply to everyone or just selected areas?

10pm And 8am is this time correct? they will upgrade us on 2nd 10pm? damn have to wait a whole day

There'll be a promo for existing customers who've been signed up to broadband for 9 months or more - get a WIFI modem & card for a special offer price of €49.99

They're not gonna send out new modems unless ya order and pay for 'em, the changes apply to new customers from early April.

It's 1GB at the moment afaik but will it increase to 2GB with the download cap?

It's the entry level that gets 8gb. You have multiple options if you require more.
