    i am making a site using frames, and have a menu bar at the side in one frame, a banner in a top-frame, and another remote site in the main frame.
    if i click a link on the menu bar, it opens in the side frame, how can i get it to open in the main frame?

    You need to name your frames:
    <frame name="nav" id="nav" src="nav.html">

    When linking to them you have to reference the frame name in your href (target="....")

    NOT trying to be funny but...don't use frames if you don't have to.

    any particular reason why you need them ?
