Was a few floating around on Autotrader and carzone.ie.....hard to find and especially at that price from what I could see.....

Here is the only one I found: http://www.carzone.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=212681 .....but above your price :D

    Maybe buy this one: http://www.carzone.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=201416

Des Cullen Cars have a nice one

http://cars.motornet.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=201416 ( I see Big Nelly got there before me)

    Sorry.

other than that don't really know - the usual www.cbg.ie, motornet.ie and nicemove.ie dont have any - the Sunday times is good for cars I believe

Yeah they seem hard to find on the net, there is a load on ebay, would it cost a lot to import from uk? just want a bit of a banger to rally around in

Try Buy & Sell or Autotrader mag.

WOuldnt be worth your while importing a car if you only want to rally around in it.....check the bargain section in the autotrader and you will find something or I could see you a 95 Primera....

It's getting harder & harder to come by genuine good condition minis, I have a '94 Cooper 1.3i which I'm considering selling ...but not for that money!

    Hey dcarroll,

Look up "Rodney Evans" motors. They are in Delgany, Wicklow. They are mini enthusiasts: Rodney used to rally minis, and his son Simon rallies them at the moment. If they don't have any in stock, they may be able to source one for you. I don't have a number for them I'm afraid though.

As other posters have said, just keep an eye out in CBG, Carzone and Autotrader to see what's out there. If you can up your budget to around 5K you may be able to pick up a mid 90's cooper in good condition.

If you don't want to outlay too much money up front, but don't mind having a bit of work carried out on it, bear in mind that mini parts are very affordable and easily got. You should pick up a mini magazine in a decent book store and have a look through...

edit: found this site for you: Irish Mini Owners Club.

Let us know how you get on?

@De Hipster: if I manage to flog my car, I may be in touch about your cooper ;)

    HTH

PS - great choice of motor :) was my first car, and it was so much fun to drive.

Do you mean, will he actually fit into it? It's not as much of a consideration as you would think - minis do not actually compromise all that much for the driver. It is the bonnet, boot and backseats that take the hit because of the small size. Me, and my friends who still own them are all around 6ft and not the skinniest of fellas and had no problem fitting in
