    I doubt it.

I just got upgraded, to 1meg though. Anyone else on IOL plus?

They might not be upgrading the people on the trial fully. I have a 16gb cap so I am on plus.
I've got upgraded to 1meg too and I'm on IOL plus trial as well. I'll get onto them tomorrow if I still don't have 2meg.

Forgive me for being dozy, but can someone fill me in on the who, what and where of these broadband upgrades? O.o

  • Registered Users Posts: 62 ✭✭j_nolan

Wexford upgraded, apparently. It doesn't actually seem too fast -- almost lagging.

EDIT: Anne St. exchange (1.5 miles away), 1746 down (220, give or take, downloading from decent servers), 110 up.

I seem to be hitting abour 1mb myself, on IOL BB plus (in santry) so I hope this is just a staged upgrade or something.
Will see how my speeds are doing after work!

Everyone you can use this site to do a realtime test of your speed from a server in europe and in the us, I recommend it.

im getting about 1740bps from that test, this new speed is fantastic, at last there is a decent difference between the homestarter and homeplus setups to warrant the price difference. Also my pings particularly to uk servers are definitely a slight bit lower than before, pings are staying in the 30s alot more than the 40s/50s which i was getting up till yesterday (in game)

that giganews test is the best

im getting 1725 kbps from it

im getting a 20 ping to boards.ie now, it used to be 26

Ya anyone know the answer to this?
Although to be fair we only got 430ish when 512 and d/l at 53.5 which = 214kb/s which is less then the 216/7 I get now :E

Anybody with the 'enhanced' service here? Line speed is now 4MBit, but actual download speeds are still 2MBit. Checked this on 4 seperate lines in New Ross and Donegal.

Thats 2mb. The overheads will cause you to lose speeds. The faster your line is the higher your overheads can be.

The swedish get 100mbit connection for under 100e a month. That's 50 times faster for not even double our price. He can complain if he wants.

Using UTV in Bray, looks like I was upgraded to 1mbit without even realising :)

Curious, will our caps increase with this new deal? 8GB does suffice, but I wouldn't argue if I had more. :)
