Here's a file off heanet, should be big enough....
    Regards,
    D.

    ftp://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/fedora/linux/core/3/i386/iso/FC3-i386-disc4.iso

Did have 1312 downstream with about 56KB/sec downloading

Restarted the router there and now getting 1504 downstream and getting 150K a second now.

Still not 2MB but an improvement.

Everyone's who's having problems.. restart their router / modem, and post back!

EDIT: It actually levelled out at about 100KB/sec on that ISO file. Still far from the 2MB i want... but like i said, definantly an improvement!

Yes that is 1mb speed but if you read the post titled "Broadband upgrade" that will tell you about rate adaptive dsl.

From Eircom : a server has died in west Dublin and seems to have fcked up the whole area.

The whole area being the whole of Dublin?

I'm on the Northside on the Belcamp exchange and it's pretty bad. I rebooted the router and it gave me proper speeds on the speed test but it's just not stable. Messy messy. I'll take my 512 back in the meantime, thanks. ;)

    Same here.
No point in bitching about it any longer, will just have to wait until they fix it.

I'm on the Tycor Exchange Waterford and was getting 2meg speeds up to this afternoon but it has gone to pot this even barely getting 512k speeds. Im with UTV by the way.Is this all related to the problem with the exchange in Dublin???

Also getting cack speeds. Web browsing isn't really affected but d/l's settle at about 10KB/s. Disgraceful!

Does this mean anything to anyone?

    lol.

Switched my modem settings, just for the laugh, and changed to PPPoA with LLC encapsulation and my speeds have immediately improved from 1.72Mbps to 1.77Mbps

    Try it :-)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 994 ✭✭✭JNive

Also, my jolt.co.uk ping took a reduction of 5ms to average 28ms :-)
