I originally posted this in the Mobile Phones forum, didn't get a single reply. Hopefully I'll have better luck here !

I recently bought a used car that had a full handsfree kit installed at some stage. Most of the components seem to be still in it - like the rear roof aerial, all the wiring etc. But the actual cradle for the phone is missing.

    My questions are :-

Is it possible to buy just the cradle anywhere ?
Are the kits interchangeable ? I know the cradles vary depending on the handset, but will the rest of the system (aerial etc.) work with any phone ?
My phone is a Motorola V980 - are car kits made for these ?

I don't know what make of phone/cradle was used in it before, but was hoping I could just put in a cradle to suit my phone and away it goes.

    What you think ?

As far as I know you can buy cradles to suit your phone for about €30. I am not sure on this, a mechanic freind told me that just after I had got as new car with a hands free kit. I would suggest you give the car phone warehouse or someone like that a call and ask them.
