    about the band.....
Electro-Rockers Substance have been knocking around the Dublin Scene for a few years now carefully learning the tricks of the trade as they go. The band have in the past played regular Headline slots at the Radiator Club night in Eamon Dorans and also at the "Noise Party" which used to entertain crowds of Dublin gig goers. In September 2004 Substance played a storming set at the city's HWCH(Hard Working Class Heroes) Festival. In January 2005 it was decided that the band's existing sound should be expanded. Along came two new members... Marina Cullen joined the band as a new vocalist to work alongside Ian while Danny Scott took over the guitar duties from Brendan O Sullivan. Since then the new line up have been busy writing and recording new material in Bad Acid Studios (Run by Drummer Andy Parkes) in Dublin. If the first result from these recording sessions,Scars From The Scars, is anything to go by then 2005 should be a very exciting and eventful year for the band...

"Their sound is stuck in the limbo of moody and explosive rock, borrowing from the two throughout. Everything is slick and sour tasting and executed to the precise volume that makes the listener that bit more intrigued" Cluas.com

"One of the best young bands around in Ireland at the moment who we've been fans of for a while now" Thebeatsurrender.co.uk
