The needle goes in quick and relatively painlessly, its what they are designed to do. Guns , altho they might seem grand are the worst invention to ever disgrace the piercing industry. They are handy for one thing and one thing only and thats ear lobes (even at that ear lobes done with guns take a lot longer to heal and are more susceptible to infection)

Why oh why do you not listen to people telling you things?! Guns *do* shatter cartilage. In the case of helixes, this can mean the collapse of that section of the ear. In the case of traguses, I'm not sure, but I wouldn't get a piercing in my ear lobe with a gun, never mind a tragus! A piercer's needle has an edge, IIRC, to help it cut through tissue much quicker and easier, whereas a gun has a shaft that punches straight through. Would you pierce your ear with a paper punch?! Migration is when a piercing doesn't settle, in this case I can almost guarantee it'll be because of the gun, and forces its way out of your skin. The needle's looking a whole lot better now I imagine.

Migration is when your body rejects the peircing. If this happens take it out. It will depend on your body, not because you got it done with a gun.

Would advise against getting anything pierced with a gun, EVER. I got my bellybutton done with the gun and it left a horrible scar above it and it doesn't sit right. My excuse is, I was twelve when I got so didn't know anybetter. Needles are better and at least you know they're clean.

if your a guy you shouldnt get your bellybutton done AT ALL!

    Why's that?
I know a few guys with it done. One has the top and bottom of his done and it looks pretty good. Besides, He loves it!

he he he,Im sorry but its always appeared to be a girl piercing

Migration depends on a lot of things, but the fact that the gun causes much more disruption in the tissue will be a factor.

On the bellybutton thing, piercings aren't about whether people think you're the right sex for it. Hell, I'd get mine done just to prove that point. I've heard the same about both tongue and nipple and I think there are plenty of people around here who'd beg to differ on both counts.

Well with 3 pages of a thread about getting a Tragus, everyone recommending a needle over a gun and this guy ends up getting it done with the gun Im starting to think I should never have reopened this one.
Think the charter needs an amendment.

Because you come on, spend three pages asking for advice, and then ignore it.

Don't ask for advice you're going to ignore. The position of the knowlegable posters on this forum vis à vis guns has been made clear over and over again. As regards healing times? More advice: longer than necessary because it was done with a gun. Seriously, you say you wouldn't get your bellybutton done with a gun, then you get a cartilage piercing with one.

if you had gone to a proper piercing studio ya wouldn't have so many questions...
anyway,id get rid of the stud, they are usually made outta crappy metal and irratate the piercing. try and get a ring to put in it,they usually fit the tragus nicely

I love my tragus piercing, got it done a year ago, it didn't hurt much, got it done with the needle, €45, healed fast and is my most fun piercing, roll on july for tongue piercing! Tragus is well worth the half a minute's pain and doesn't swell for long, had my earphones back in that day. You can get flat backed bars so the ball isn't in the way of the earphone. :)

Raven in Cork. The guy kept talking and I'm sure I remember him mocking me about being nervous, he made me feel a bit more at ease before starting. I always close my eyes for piercings, and in Raven there's a huge mirror in front of you so I'm glad I did!

I know people who've insisted on getting pierced in Ravan in cork, cos he'll pierce anyone under age....and they've all had bad, bad expierences with him...i got pierced there once too and I didn't like it either....but I just don't agree with him piercing everyone and anyone!!
