    Hi
    Im setting up Outlook Express 6 with an exiting yahoo.ie mail account. Outlook Express will not send or receive mail.

    When I click on Tools > Send and Receive > Send All
    An Outlook dialog box appears > 'Connecting to Yahoo Mail' > Autorising > an additional dialog box appears with the title Logon - Yahoo Mail.
    Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com. The correct user name appears and the correct password appears. When I click on OK, Outlook attempts to authorise the user and the Logon - Yahoo Mail dialog box appears again.

    The account properties are as follows:
    GENERAL tab
    Mail Account = Yahoo Mail
    Name = abc
    Organisation = blank
    E-Mail Address = abc@yahoo.ie
    Reply Address= abc@yahoo.ie
    Include this account when receiving mail or synchronising = unchecked
    SERVERS tab
    My incoming mail server = POP3
    Incoming Mail (POP3) = pop.mail.yahoo.com
    Outgoing Mail (SMTP) = smtp.mail.yahoo.com
    Account Name = abc
    Password = ******
    Remember password = checked
    Log on using Secure Password Authentication = unchecked
    My server requires authentication = checked
    SETTINGS button
    Logon Information > Use same settings as my incoming mail server
    Sorry this is so long winded! Does any one have any ideas, I've run out

    do you have a firewall?
    is it reporting anything?
    are you using nat?
    what isp do you use?

    You're probably better off changing this to your ISP's smtp server.

    Might be better off changing the pop3 address to pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk as well. I've been using that one for so long that I can't remember whether pop.mail.yahoo.com even works for uk/ie addresses still.

    I assume Emmers will also need to tick the "Include this account when receiving mail or synchronising" box - anyone?
