Rooted Cuttings

Took some shrub cuttings last summer, potted on the ones that took and the bit of sun the last couple of weeks has them flying out of the pots. Question is, should I "stop" them to produce a bushier plant (as you do with bedding), or wait until the pruning season when they're dormant?
