Wireless ISDN

Due to not being able to get Broadband, I have recently got ISDN installed. I have heard of somebody who has a wireless router attached to the ISDN box meaning that he can pick up the Internet wireless throughout his house on his laptop, which has built in wireless.

Has anyone any idea of the piece of equipment that can be used to enable me to do the same in my house. I can pick up the wireless broadband in Hotels etc which obviously means that I have wireless built into my laptop as well.

you just need an isdn router and a wireless access point, watch it though, your still going to pay call charges everytime you dial up unless you get an unlimited access deal.

There is some version of a Draytek Vigor which is a combo isdn TA/Rouer/Wirelss point..

At the moment I am on Eircom flatrate 150 hours anytime which will cover the time I spend on it.

Is there any specific ISDN router that you are aware of that I can get my hands on.

I have found this one, will it meet my requirements? Is there a less expensive version?

thats a steep price, it's a nice bit of kit and will do the job, if you shop around you might be able to find an isdn router much cheaper (try ebay) then just add an access point. For Gods sake unplug the thing when your not on the net, ive seen people on that 150 anytime with €400 internet bill from a machine left on dialling up all the time.

So basically to put all this in lay mans terms

I am currently accessing the internet using a wired connection from the ISDN box on the wall to the USB minivigor that eircom send out when you get ISDN.

To operate wireless I need an ISDN router that will plug into the ISDN box on the wall, but i need a piece of equipment that will plug into the router called an access point. I will then be able to pick up the ISDN through my built in wireless on the laptop.

Yes; you'll want an ISDN router with ethernet (or a Wifi router with a serial port, but that's just silly)
