I'm thinking of paying for the girlfriend to do the open water for her birthday. Any suggestions on where she could train? Scubadive West are closest but it'll cost €550.

    Dave,

Women prefer warm water diving over cold stuff most days of the week? Maybe do the class & pool sessions and take the open water stuff in a nice 3mm shorty and 30m vis somewhere?

    Just a suggestion.

    <edit>
Actually i just remembered that Killian & Breffni's dad runs a dive op in the Canary islands. Could drive a hard bargain?

So its got a name now eh...

Soon they'll be diagnosing traumatised women with Evil Phil Exposure Syndrome (E.P.E.S).

.. and we'll all be like:
hey whats wrong with that girl....
    and they'll be like:
    .. ah she's got E.P.E.S.
    and we'll all be like:
HAAAAARSH! No way back after that.

You realise we're talking about daveg's missus right?

Dave, slap a ban on this enthusiastic "exposure" suit...

Goddamn this "can't ban a mod from his own forum" rule shít.

The reason behind getting her to do the OW is that we are hoping to head of
to Oz early next year. A trip to the barrier reef is on the cards so I wanted her to qualify before she goes. However I sent her a link to a webpage detailing the fish etc you will find on the reef, and due to a slight miscalculation she also found a link to dangerous creatures on the reef.

All chances of diving are off.... Not only will she not dive on the barrier reef but she will not be swimming in any water whilst in the southern hemisphere.

She's a little bit skittish huh?

Well maybe you should make the point that she's 1000 times more likely to get hit by a var crossing the road than she is by being killed by an underwater critter.

But yeah i know, women can be a bit iraationl when it comes to this sort of stuff. (Phoa, was that sexist or what!)
