Whats the difference between a 2way and 3way speaker??

which is best for a sony stereo that can support 200watts, 50 to each speaker.

should i get 200watts 2way or 3way. The ones im lookin at are sony xplod yokes. But i notice JVC 3way 6*9`s 200watts are very cheap on ebay. Hmmm,,

Three way, if its the same as HIFI, means that there is a speaker cone for bass (woofer), mid range, and treble (tweeter). Two way is just bass and treble, mid range is produced with a combination of the two. Three way will sound better, unless its a really cheap and nasty three way.

Depends on the design.

Many audiophile setups are 2 way.

Thanks for the replies. I was looking at these on ebay,, there a 2way as i cant find a 3 way xplod set. Also, are 6 * 9`s the best ones to get,, i more less narrowed it down to them, as they seem to be the most common 200 xplod vers.

Should i hold out for a 3way set. Is there much actualt difference in sound?
Anyone have any feedbk?

My stereo is a new F7500 50watts*4, so 200watt yoke, btw, if that helps.
