Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Strange AP Routing problems

    Hi all,

    Could somebody help with this...

    Im sharing my eircom dsl with neighbours and friends. I have an access point on my roof, (AP1, accesspoint mode) connecting to a friends accesspoint 1km away (AP2, client mode) his accesspoint provides internet to the pcs in his house no problem. Then he has 2nd accesspoint (AP3, accesspoint mode) connected to AP2 via ehternet thru a switching hub.

    So far, everything works grand.

    The problem arises when, another neighbour connects into AP3. I'll call their accesspoint AP4 (accesspoint client mode). The neighbour can ping all pcs on the network,including AP1 (my house) BUT he cannot ping the gateway (proxy server 192.168.0.128) for some strange reason.

    Each AP has an IP,SUBNET, and GATEWAY.

    I have a feeling that the GATEWAY entry could be causing the problems.

    I have tried different configurations. Am i right to set the gateway on each ap to 192.168.0.128? or should each ap's gateway point to the ip of the ap next up the line?

    Could this be a problem with the switching hubs arp table?

    Thanks!

    Adrian

    DSL -> PROXY(.128) ->AP1(ap mode)->AP2(ap client mode)=ehternet=AP3(ap mode)->AP4(ap client)

    Are all the APs and PCs in the 192.168.0.x subnet? Or have you different subnets in different locations?
