    hi,

I`m looking for the people which are VW specialists especially old Golf. I have VW Golf III 1.8 GT version and some problems which cooling engine. First the car is overheating, its looks like the engine fan is not working, then I have some other problems with shocks etc. I was at Tallaght specialists garage and they change the battery !!! they did not see any problems with the cooling, I could not believe, they charged me 300E for this and keep my car nearly two weeks !

Can someone can recommend any good garage which I can trust and where the people know what they are doing

    thanks

u need a new thermostat, get a haynes manual for it to fit it and buy the thermo from gsfcarparts.com off the nass road. its an easy/cheap diy fix.
alternatively halfords will have everything, they are in blanch retail park.

once u get that done get the shocks done in kwikfit.

while u are driving it b4 u fix it, turn the interior heater to full and hot, and open the windows. this will help cool the engine and drive gentel.

stear clear of main dealers, for shocks, and thermo and replacement car hire u would be looking at a grand, and i doubt the car is worth half that.
