Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Construction on the new stadium for Bayern Munich and TSV 1860 Munchen has now entered the final phase, and the stadium is set to be complete in time for this summer, a year ahead of the world cup finals. The stadium's distinctive design - chosen because it was considered to be 'an innovative interpretation of the football stadium of the future' - has led to it being christened both 'the life belt' and 'the rubber boat' in Germany and the colour of the stadium can be changed via light projected from inside the stadium. In contrast to the Olympic stadium the crowd will be in close proximity to the pitch, in an attempt to create a cauldron-like atmosphere. As evidenced from the photos accessible via the site below, it will be a new landmark of European football, but will also surely be one of Europe's biggest free-standing advertisments.

Well I hope there isnt a big dirty running track around the pitch. That is whats wrong with the last stadium.

Very germanic design or something. Like you wouldnt see this anywhere else in Europe. I think the new stadium looks brilliant. :):) I wish Ireland had more world class stadia like this.

The Berlin Olympiastadion, scene of the Hitler Olympics. But theyve built a new stadium so its wont have the same Nazi feel to it.

    HAHAHA:D I hope it doesnt !

In fairness to the Germans, Deutchland is probably the best country at hosting the WC in terms of infastructure and stadia and space !

Better make the most of this this WC cos the next two as faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar away

the next 4 will be far away now they have this "tournament rotation" policy.

it will be 2010 in South Africa, 2014 somewhere in South America, 2018 in North America or Australia, 2022 in Asia then back here in 2026.

I dont have any links to back this up, but Im 95% certain they announced this back a few years ago. Id say the most unlikely ones would be the 2018 and 2022, if the US or Aussie's dont want it or an Asian country cant manage it.

This stadium is designed for footy only ! I can imagine what the sound will be like with all the walls closed in like that.
