Used the hi-tech method - whipped out the power lead and plugged it in again. [You can't beat the old ways :D ]

Anyone on Ballycoolin notice ping spikes or erratic pings the last few nights? Its not the high site but the link to Tallaght where I see the ping going erratic !

Anyone else got this problem, playing BFV last night and pings went from 18 - 100 and back again continously ?

Looks like the atrium site has bing upgraded gettting cinsistant 100k download speeds and spikes of 200k. Compared to the 50k I was getting before i am delighted.

Anyone had high latecy from the Ballycoolin mast last night ?

seems to be the two hops once the ping leaves the tallaght switch and enters the two IBB routers before the INEX.

Has anyone on 1M Breeze in Cork been upgraded to 2M for the same cost of €35.99 ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,630 ✭✭✭Blaster99

That's the price for the 1Mbps service. If you want 2Mbps, you need to pay €48. I've incidently not been upgraded from the original 1Mbps service yet.

so your paying €48 for a 1mb and others are paying €35 for the same connection, get on the phone Blaster !! i've 2mb and I pay €48

I'm on Siac in Clondalkin and have been getting about 20% packet loss, low speeds and high pings for the last few days. I logged a call with them yesterday evening and chased them again this afternoon.

I was told that it is a problem with the backhaul and it won't be rectified until a new high site comes online at Park West in at least 2 weeks. He stressed 2 weeks was not definite so could be longer, (knowing IBB it will be). In the mean time, the engineer admitted that I and others, will be paying for a broadband service we're not getting.

Can anyone explain how a new high site would solve this problem, to me it just sounds like over-subscription. I did ask the engineer but he said it wasn't his area of expertise so didn't know.

Cos I imagine theyll send a number of people over to the new site therefore creating more bw for the remaining people??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,326 ✭✭✭ciarsd

are all IBB products available from the Ballycoolin mast in D15 now? when I got my 1mb Breeze package last november I was limited to the one package (one package that I never see 1mb speeds with let alone the 2mb upgraded speeds!) :(

i read on another thread that they're having problems with this mast so hopefully they get their act together and provide the service they advertise and charge for.

Anyone else been qos'd on 3 rock???

Im not complaining as I had been using it reasonably heavily last small while yet it wasnt on full blast the whole time just a ticking over as the family had to get some stuff which has come down now so much reduced use

Anyway I suggest its QOS as I can never go past 120k down(im on 2meg package), it always stays around there which is unusual for an IBB product to do, usually deviates up and down...

More importantly does anyone know when they remove the limit? Im not too pushed but Id like to be able to hit the full mark on the occassion I need it(minus the week of heavy usage).
