I would be impressed if TV3 had actually commissioned some of the films rather then just buying them in.

Was listening to the producers on the Media show on NewsTalk.

They where saying how easy it was to set up as an Indo. TV Producer. It would only cost you up to 20,000 to set up. (Equiment wise).

They then went on to say how they where filming a short of there own for the IFB/BSÉ, 3 mins in lenght. Costing 18,000. MMMMM.

I did an interview for college with the producers and asked them the same question about tv3 commissioning shorts for the series, it turns out there are about 60 short films in the series, many would have cost about 20,000 to make - so if tv3 were going to commission all the films in the series it would have cost them about 1.2 million and as the films are coming from all around the world it would have taken years of planning and basically far too expensive.

oh yeah, the short film lovely productions are doing is a 'short short' for the irish film board, the film board give a 15,000 euro grant to 9 people once a year to make 3 minute films - not bad.. :)

They have been on the air 7 years and they have yet to plan anything worth talking about.

Yeah! not bad for the 9 production staff.

How many films are made from the €15,000?
