you need to adjust your time settings in your control panel

I'm on a Mac and it's in system preferences...

but my clock time is syncing to GMT via a time server... which is correct it is 23:22 isn't it?

Time on the top left is 22:22

Your boardsie control panel, not your systems one.

Okay the clock currently says that GMT +1 is 23:42 but GMT (without a +anything) is 23:42 not GMT +1.
