    It's relevant to the discussion insofar as we were also discussing how easy or otherwise it is to memorise reg numbers in a hurry. It's not beyond the bounds of possibility that you may be faced with a Northern reg in such a situation.

    It may be that some off the shelf vehicles - cars, van and mini-busses are leased by the year / km and are effectively civilian vehicles merely in military colours.

    However, any vehicle with an on-duty military driver is legally a military vehicle.
