Nope that's not enough, anyway aren't they supposed to be jumping over a fence when you count them or something, maybe I'm just weird... I'd like to see you find a picture of that!

Remove all stimulants 30 minutes before going to bed. That means no music, no internet, only light-hearted TV, comedy is best. Definitely no coffee or tea, no food (a very light snack if you must), maybe have a glass of water.
If I have coffee/strong tea in the afternoon I find it difficult to sleep, decaf helps a bit but it still has caffine in it. I've heard that the relaxing effect of a cup of hot-chocolate is mostly due to the milk so maybe just hot milk instead. hot milk mixed with honey is good for sore throats but tastes foul btw. Years ago it was dead easy - just left the radio on all night RTE2 went off air at night and then back on again in the morning.

Yeah you need to wind down and also to get out of bed in the morning so your body doesn't associate lying in bed with NOT sleeping.

Close your eyes and drift away to some place new
Where the skies are blue brings back the child in you
Cross a lonely field as birds begin to speak

I sleep in the recovery position either to the left or right but mostly to the right (ie left leg straight and right leg bent at the knee and left arm straight down my side, right arm bent etc). Quite handy I suppose if ever I get injured in bed, I'll already be in the recovery position when the paramedics arrive :D

The problem is that although I have a preferance for facing right, I seem to have developed a routine where I need to alternate left right a few times over the course of a half hour or so before finishing up facing right and then finally falling asleep. The real annoying kicker though is that every few weeks I seem to develop a bad creak in my neck usually brought on by a massive sneeze or coughing episode. For some reason this creak always results in a massive pain shouting up the back of my skull should I turn my head to the left. While during the day this is not much of an issue as I would just alter my stance if I need to look to my left, at night it is an absolute pain in the neck (pun intended) because of the need I described earlier of having to alternate left and right a few times before I can sleep. Its like this instinctive uncontrolable urge takes over to turn to the left and I have to conciously stop myself. Its like my body gets really frustrated that I wont let it turn to the left, and usually it takes me double or triple the time to get to sleep. I've taken to taking Panadol night on 'Creak' nights to ease the neck pain when I invariably intstinctively turn my head before I stop myself and the anti-histamines in it also make me drowsy. Panadol night is a flu/cold remedy btw!! :D

....but the funny thing is I always wake up in the morning on my back without fail! :D

    Yes i am a freak :D
