Her Name was Toni I think and she now lives in the Caneries or Spain ,she was interviewed on Gerry Ryan a while ago

There is more to being an admin than just being able to ban sitewise. It's pretty much a full time job. So I suggest someone who has presence on these boards and is qualified. Not just some random person who has loads of posts.

Hell do half the names mentioned even know sql?

i dont think there is a need for another admin. what people miss is an ecksor.
run that idea through your head, and let me know what you come back with...

if anyone is mad a cat mod or a 'super mod' or some other such rubbish, i am firmly of the belief that they should do the job of 'an ecksor' in that catagory they are over.

they are not forum moderators.

they should not be deleteing posts, or editing them or moving. thats the job of a moderator. a cat mod is simply someone who has the power to ban in the cases where an admin is not available. ie. in the instances of spamming, racisim, porn etc.

only whne there is simply no other choice, should a cat mod intervene in a forum, other than to sort out requests from moderators.

and thats my opinion.

I concur. Outside of the decision making process of the direction in which Boards takes, Admins have two roles. First as Uber-uber-moderators, always handy to have on site when some spammer or troll-muppet appears on a few boards, rather than every single moderator having to ban the individual in question, but secondly (and far more importantly) as both a developer and systems admin - after all, who do you think fixes the server when it falls over or implements new features to the site?

My understanding is that on a technical level Regi and Cloud now are the only ones running the show. Both are very limited in the time they can give, Cloud is a full-time lecturer (AFAIK) and Regi is oiling the wheels of Capitalism with the blood of the workers - leaving both with limited time to be overly involved. So, especially if they intend to implement new features, any new admin would have to be proficient in the development and administration of the environment on which Boards is built (namely FreeBSD, Apache, PHP and MySQL - not to mention vBulletin).

As for becoming an Admin without getting paid or a piece of the action, are people here complete idiots? It’s one thing to spend an hour or so a week moderating a few forums, but being an Admin can involve you going out to fix the server in a data centre on the weekend. You want to do that for free?

You don't need more admins really, you just need a system where any user can start a poll (here on the feedback board) to get any other user pruned once a 75% majority of ~50 votes has been reached.
Of course the outcome would be entirely at the whim of Bubbles 50 accounts, but still, it'd be good for a laugh.
