Sims2 University problem...

    I was installing Sims 2 university today and all was going grand. Got past the installation stage, then it says it's going to upgrade my game with a patch. Cool, I thought, save me having to download it.

    So, it tells me to insert Disc 4 from the original game, but it just says "Unable to copy from disc", and no reason etc. To make matters worse, it then precedes to uninstall university. I'm thinking it could be a virus, but I'm just wondering if it happened to anyone else who has the game?

    scratched disk

    check the files on the disk, by copying them to a folder on your hard drive

    then mount this folder on a virtual drive

    Sims 2 wont let you install it if you've any virtual drives IIRC.

    Whats a virtual drive? And whats IIRC?

    By the by, would a different disc work?

    IIRC - If I remember correctly
    If you don't know what a virtual drive is it is very unlikely you would have one.
    A disc from someone elses sims would work.

    Try downloading the patch, then you shouldn't need to put the orignial sims disc in.

    yeah I did that, but when I tried to install it, same problem occured. I think my best bet is someone elses discíní. Cheers for the help chaps.
