Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    join a handball team
    http://www.nixers.com/ApplyForJob.aspx?Id=135816

join a golf club, but their full of snobs and it will cost you a fortune.

join a tennis club, www.tennisireland.ie/links. you dont need to be good.

or my fav, get jarred in the city centre and talk to tourists, they are always friendly and intriguing. or go on a paddywagon tour, although people might think your weird since your from dublin.

go to the international bar comedy club off dame street or the haypenny bridge bar for comedy.

    go cycling up the mountains

go to the pavillion in trinity college, sit out and drink cans and watch hot birds throw frisbees.

play some poker, backgammon, chess, in cafes,

dont go to a gym, such sterile stuffy boring places, where vanity is all that is reqd

im interested to know if anyone knows of any unusual sports apart from those i mentioned above that are easy to get into. easy to get into meaning unlike soccer or gaa that req a decent standard.

good suggestions keep them coming...What about that fantasia place? Is it any good?

Learn how to fly fish and then hit the rivers on sunny afternoons, thats my plan for the summer

Go on a hill walk up to the hell fire club throgh massey woods and then set up camp around there somewhere with a few mates, or maybe go camping up at lara or powerscourt.

go on the Dublin ghost tour (if its any good)
Go busking on grafton street or surrounding streets, that would be fun.

get into gardening and make your garden real nice then invite all your mates around and have a bbq and a few beers, just like an aussie!

Get a group of people and go paintballing, thats really good fun, but expensive.

i will add more as the day goes by.....

National Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin is great (and free!). Buses 13, 19, 83 stop outside, 19A about 200 metres away. Great car park - €2.

Buy a guide/map (about €2?) and see it all. Restored glasshouses are a treat (if interested, there is a small exhibition giving details of the restoration at the rear of the Curvilinear). Pond area is very picturesque. Cafeteria is pleasant. Altogether a nice way to spend a sunny afternoon. Allow about 2 hours. Closes at 6pm (4:30pm in winter).

    Not your ornery onager

There is a free tour of the Prisident's Gaf. Starts at the Visitor Center, Phoenix Park, on Saturday Mornings (never done it myself).

On Paddys weekend (ok so you just missed it) - the Tresure Hunt they organise is best way to see Dublin stuff, lightning tour and free access to all Smithfield Tower, Dublina Viking Exibit, Christchurch Crypt, Guinness Brewery, Dublin Castle and several of the art and national meuseums ( did this last year - recommended)

    * Booze cruse to Wales?

    * karaoke bar - Japanese place beside International bar in Dublin- not as lame / embarrassing as it sounds.

    * Hillwalking - Cycle or Motorbike along Wicklow Way

    * Already mentioned - but "Grand Prix night" at Kylemore carting is brill for a group.

    * fairyhouse already mentioned - Another good sunday market is the Santry Karting track on Sunday mornings - bit junkier than fairyhouse maybe though.

    * Cinema or Play in town.

[Request] - Any adventure type places (Rock Climbing Abseiling, Rope Walks etc NEAR to Dublin - like the one in Galway). For an office day away(they wont leave the pale)
