Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sony HC42 NTSC in Ireland

    A relative is thinking of buying a Sony HC42 in america which obviously will be NTSC, will it be possible to burn this to dvd's in pal format or would it just be easier to burn it in ntsc and play through an all regions dvd player??

    Would it be really stupid to buy a mini DV camera in the US to use here in Ireland??

    Unless you buy a standards comvertor, it's not easy to convert.

    But you connect the camcorder to a pc using firewire will you be able to burn pal dvd's??

    Or would it be easier to just burn them as ntsc's then play them in a dvd player thats region free??

    The HC42 is about half the price over there.

    You would have to put them on the PC as NTSC, then convert it to Pal. The burn the DVD.
