Picture id for test?

Was anyone here asked for picture id doing the test? the rac site says that you need a picture id aswell as your provisional http://www.racsom.ie/learning/part2/5.html It's been 6years since i did my test and i wasnt asked but the missus has her test tomoro and was asking me about it as she cant find her passport.

The licence is Photo ID, Duh! Why would they want more?

Rac site ( in the link above : You should ensure that you have the following documentation with you:
Your test appointment card / details
Your provisional driving licence
Some other form of photographic ID
(You can check with your local RAC School of Motoring Centre or Instructor what is acceptable – before the day of the test!!!! )

I wasn't asked for photo ID for my test, just my provisional.

It's to do with people hiring others to do their test for them.
