    Hi All,

I'm in the process of buying a 99 Mazda MX5. I'm not going to "Mod" it but I just want to change the look a little. I'd like to put leather seats and upholstery in it and add chrome headrests. The problem is, dealers want a fortune for stuff like that. Can anyone recommend a cheaper alternative for accessories/seats/upholstery?

    Cheers

How much you getting the MX5 for? I am on the look out for one myself. Plus I will also be interested to hear if you find your cheaper alternative for accessories. Keep me posted!

I went to meet this crowd on Saturday last http://www.mx5ireland.com and they do regular meets where they tweak, mod and generally poke at each others cars. All really nice guys and they know a *lot* about MX5s.

    For parts there's http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/ and http://www.sumoautoparts.co.uk/

    Hey, i was there also...
    What car were you in?

There are a few sites for MX-5 parts, as mentioned by TabulaRasa, also www.donutz.co.uk

For Leather seats, you don't have to buy Mazda, try some others, or join the MX-5 owners club for loads of advise and first hand experience...

Cheers for that. The MX5 I've bought is a 1999 1.6 about 50K on the clock. Excellent cond for €12000 with 2 years NCT. It doesn't have any electrics package though which is a bummer. I'll check out the MX5 club. They other sites are a lot cheaper than the Irish Mazda dealers for sure. Thanks for the tip on the seats. What if I wanted to change the upholstery to leather? Can you recommend anyone?
I've seen an Dublin company that can get you an MX5 ordered as an import. www.motolink.ie

you could always try Traynors in the north Email they break a huge amount of cars and might just have a nice leather interior and the different chrome bits you require, hope this helps
