I am not sure i fully understand what you are trying to do - can you post the code or a link to the page?

Make sure your background image is referenced within the <body> tag and the images are placed using <img src="">.

If you are not using the code view, right click on the page in Design View - and under properties, there is an option for background. This is where you indert the background image. The regular images are then placed in the page using the Insert>Image from the top menu.

    Hope that helps.

can you take a screenshot and post it up ?

Have you set the background image as the background in Page Properties ? rather than just adding it as an image.

    Hi

It sounds to me like you have inserted your background image as an image instead of setting it as your background. And you can put an image over an image in dreamweaver.

Go to file > page properties and add your background image from there - you should be able to add your button into tables, or whatever, over the background. I have attached an image to show you how to do it.

    Hope this helps

As above, you've just inserted the image, you haven't made it a background (either in the page or within a table, I'm not sure where you're putting it.). So, when you add you button graphics it can't physically go on top of the other graphic (without using CSS) and so is being pushed to either side.

Solution = Make the background image an actual background, not just an image. This is generally acomplished using the properties panel (not sure what version of dreamweaver you're using)
