    I couldn't believe my eyes when I read this post.
    Did you notice the end of the second line: 9Mbit/512kbit :eek: :eek: :eek:
    Surely not in Ireland. But I checked it and it is.
    Surely it's not cheap. But I checked it and it is only €40
    Surely there's a tiny cap. But I checked it and there is no cap.

    Check out the Cablesurf website and feast your eyes.
    Carlsberg don't do broadband, but if they did, it'd be Cablesurf!

    what the hell is it with Dungarven and pioneering broadband products :confused:

    Don't think that's the case since the late nineties when they were on 5Mbit. It used to slow up if everyone was online. But Caseys are using the ESB fiber network now so it's working like a dream there.

    Set up the cousins PC for her in Dungarvan and while i was there i ran a speed test on Numion. Gave 1.2MBit d/l and 746 up.
    I then went home to my IOL connection and cried!!!!! ;)

    Yeah was on there site about this time last year, tring to coax them into setting up in Kildare. Have moved back to Dublin anyway, thank you NTL.

    If only NTL could do this, it would be a dream come true.

    So are you saying that people typically get about 1.2Mbps on that service? That doesn't sound particularly good.

    why isnt that good, you typically get 1/10 dl spped of your connection speed (i.e 2mbps gets your in and around 190-200k or more). So with his precident shouldn't they only be getting around 900k???? 1.2mb is good is it not?

    Vadrefjorde worded it wrong.

    9mb (bit) = 1.2mB (bytes)

    What? You would get 100mb in 2min.

    Where you get the 20min per byte?

    LOL :D
    Ciran500, he's pointing out that:
    m = milli = 1 thousandth = 1/1000
    M = Mega = 1 million = 1,000,000
    - decimal style, before someone goes all "powers of 2 man" on me ;)

    Maybe it's something to do with the fact that the owners/operators are Dungarvan born and bred...... :D

    It's probably one of the nicest (and cleanest) towns in the country. They've taken a hammering with the loss of 450 jobs at Waterford Crystal though. Good infrastructure, and a fantastic road from Waterford City to Cork City. :D

    Hmm, couldnt' care less if the town was clean or not! As long as there was cheapish accomodation, good labour opportunities, and access to Cablesurf (I know 1 guy who was just a few yards away from the nearest Casey point, but still can't get Casey TV or bb.
