Telecom reps to gather for broadband conference

    The main players in the telecoms industry will meet on Friday, May 13 to discuss the level of broadband roll out and debate the problems in the new marketplace.

    The event is being held in the Radisson SAS Hotel, which is broadband-enabled via the Galway Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) one of the 17 MANs under the management of e-net, the Limerick based company managing this vital infrastructure on behalf of the Government.

    The event, which is the first such national event of its kind, is being hosted by The Galway Chamber of Commerce, facilitated by e-net.

    Speaking in advance of the Conference, at which he will be a Keynote Speaker, Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, Noel Dempsey, TD said:

    “Broadband is one of the key infrastructural investments which will keep Ireland at the top of the list of potential locations for foreign direct investments as well as enhancing the effectiveness of Government’s regional development policy."

    Who Should Attend? Academics, Financiers, Members of Local Authorites, Consultants, Providers, Advisors, Educators, SMEs, Large Organisations, Chambers of Commerce. There is a charge of €50 per attendee, which includes lunch. There is also an opportunity for companies to have stands at the event, cost €1,000.
