What a fool! On behalf of all modified car owners who do enjoy some legally organised cruises around Ireland, let me just say that fool is not representative of us all. I paid IR3,500 my first year of insurance and it's all down to the ikes of him. His kind is not welcome at cruises and gives us all a bad name.

I sincerely hope he gets the full five points.

..... I paid IR3,500 my first year of insurance and it's all down to the ikes of him. .....

With the chances of being caught low and the fine @ $2500, while insurance is $3500, $2500 seems like a bargain.

If the yought insurance rates were in line with reality, might get more of them to avail of it.

    these prices are ridicilous.

So many ppl blaming the 1st poster on all the evils of the irish car insurance industry. Get a grip, ur all just swallowing the crap fed to u by the insurance companies. Yes its only due to ppl like the 1st poster, that every single person in this green land is getting scr*wed over by high charges.

Im not saying what he did was right, it wasnt. But blaming him and the likes of him on the reason that we "all" pay crazy cash for the right to drive, seems a little to easy. Leave him alone and wake up.

If he or someone else like him crashed into the back of you then you may have a different attitude.

I hope the D**K gets a sentence put him with a hardcore con, let him learn the hard and show others that its not acceptable to do things cos it seems good at the time....

Hard justice is what this kid needs....

"If he or someone else like him crashed into the back of you then you may have a different attitude."
What! Did u read what i typed. Of course i would be pi*sed off, but seems u missed my point completly. No point in spelling it out again.

"hope the D**K gets a sentence put him with a hardcore con"

Is it just me, or is this quote nuts! Again im not saying its ok what he did, but lock a person up for no insurance with a hardcore con, would u hope that after the few yrs inside that he would be so scared he'd never do it again. Or maybe, that he cant handle it inside so turns to the drugs. And dies! yeah that'd be a lesson alright, good man!

If insurance rates are so high because of uninsured drivers, then why is this not the case across europe?

Insurance rates in Ireland are high because the insurance industry here is an unregulated cartel.

Still naughty and stupid to drive without insurance though.

Of course judging by the levels of Schadenfreude being exhibited here (as per usual on boards) I assume that all the rest of you are pure as the driven snow? ;)

^^^ Don't mind those gobsh|tes, everybody drives around uninsured while young, its all part of growing up.

Tell the judge you mistakenly believed you had been insured on your parents open-driving policy whether they have open-driving or not (it's all alittle ambiguous to youngsters see) and that you took it WITHOUT CONSENT or you parents could be held accountable and branded as 'should've known betters'.

You need to somehow implicate the maxxing community as a form of distraction for the judge with nervous spiels like 'there was supposed to be a 20,000bhp skyline diffin' yer honor' ' diffin?' yeah diffing involves whatever... they find these little sub-culture terminologies intriguing and a bemused judge could let you off scot free.

Either that or get pops to have a chat with a local TD (mention something about escortireland) and get the whole thing quashed.

well the current system doesn't seem to have worked for this kid... When you have spent 6 defending this country in the defence forces Jay567 you can come back to me and say that you know what discipline means, cos it didn't work for the kid, I have seen scumbags like this before, they get off lightly and lets just say I have seen two old women been run over by an uninsured driver... So if you want you can have the blood of there deaths on your hands, he needs to accept what he did and not try and find any way out of it... Whose to say he gets off this time and the next time when he decides that he's gotten away with it and takes the car out and comes driving along that its not your sister or brother, father or mother that he knocks down...

This country needs to touch up on people like this.. you break the law then you need to pay for and all the power should be given to the judge so that it stops this scum dead in there tracks...
