Strange - I'm off Bray and have had no problems

Speedtests are showing a slight decrease [high 800s rather than low 900s] but that's all......

i'm in greystones using iol and my 1 meg line has been down to 600kbps today, not sure if their are problems or if its to do with them upgrading my line - supposed to be upgrading it to 2meg today, still no sign of it actually happening though.

Dunno about yesterday, but my connection has gone to the dogs today.

    IrishISPTest results:
    Down: 409
    Up: 135

Normally both are in the 900 - 930 region.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    Yep

Agreed, I noticed a loss in speed yesterday/last night too. I do notice that it's a little slower sometimes but overall I'm happy, I'm sure this is temporary.

    cheers

There has been a lot of b*tching about IBB's service here, but in fairness, I've never had any real problems with them. Two outages since December when I joined, but the speeds have always been in the 900+ region.

This is the first time I've noticed an appreciable slowdown.

You using a totally different way of connecting,
Your problem is unrelated to anything IBB related (IBB is wireless, IOL is ADSL)

It depends on what your expectations are. If you had used Eircom's ADSL service you would have had the expectation that it always works perfectly. IBB is a fairly amateurish effort in comparison to that.

As for this particular problem, I would call it fairly normal.

    rofl
I would have said that Eircoms setup is amateurish in fairness,
it certainly feels like it ;)

Have you used Eircom's ADSL service?

No problems today.. all seems!!! fine

Wonder how long it will last

  • Registered Users Posts: 236 ✭✭richardo

My pings are OK [boards.ie Avg 14ms]

My speedtest is all over the place.
    Earlier:
    IrishISPTest results:
    Down: 409
    Up: 135

Normally both are in the 900 - 930 region.
Now Down is 842, Up is 7.98 [and that is NOT a typo]

Pretty slow on Baldoyle and Killester today too... Keeps going up and down back to say 512k speeds. Baldoyle is the worst now.
