I have been thinking of getting this
    http://www.peats.com/cgi-bin/shop/db.cgi?view=1&id=8060&type=6&sid=1070581x0
    or this
    http://www.garmin.com/products/iQueM5/

Does anyone have one of these?

Do you know is it possible to use the GPS receiver built into these devices in whatever palm navigation software you want or if it only works with the supplied software?

    And for a crazy idea...
Is it possible to get the GPS reciver attachment that comes with those devices with the o2 XDAIII? It would be great to have one device that combines internet access with gps.

Is it to be used in Ireland? The mapping data available for Ireland is terrible (Thanks to the OS's iron grip on the data). The major citys are ok and there are a few of the major roads but passed that forget about it. I got a Garmin Etrex a while ago to play around with because it came with a serial cable to connect to my laptop I was then able to use a few maps on the computer but I was never really happy with it, mainly because I never gave it the time needed to set it up fully.
Anyway I'd reccommend having a look on ebay.ie for those, you might find it at a better price new there even after shipping and convert the currency.

Yes its to be used in ireland.
    Specificaly in Dublin.

I also plan on taking it with me to the UK.

I have microsoft autoroute for the pc and find the maps for dublin very good.
The annoying part about it is that it wont find a street address i type in except for major ones, but if i know where it is and click on the street it will work fine.

I use a bluetooth GPS with a XDAII and it works perfectly. The down side is you cann the use the GPS without a PDA or PC/Laptop. Some units like the ones u listed also have cables too hook em in to a PDA but they can be difficult to get.
