how long and how many times does a bitch be in heat for a year

a friend of mine has a boxer dog "well its a bitch" and she is wondering how many times a year will she go into heat and how long will heat last ???? any help would be great thanks in advance

Have her spayed before or after her next heat..that will put a stop to that.

Normally a bitch comes in to heat every 6 months and stays in heat for approx 18-21 days. Judging by our bitches anyway!
