Now having seen that site it does nothing to show the proof that it is either of the conclusions that people point to. Could the accident of been simply a well planned attack, could the terrorists (they got enough to hijack not one but 2 planes) have planted explosives in the towers, could they have been disguised firefighters, rented a local store and set it up as if it was being set up and in the confusion ran over with explosive, or did the government or other organisation blow it up, neither side has enough evidence to support them properly.

....and my lab had such super amazing security that not even somebody really awesome could get by, so don't give me that "i snuck in and added people to the recipe" crap.

True, THAT SITE proves nothing at all. However, there are OTHER RESOURCES besides that one which point to the unlikelihood of a huge conspiracy having occurred, like all the resources available to the American Government for example. Let's be honest here: who really thinks that the Americans risked crippling their entire economy by blowing up the twin towers, and who's just being argumentative?

Thats what I am saying, there is not enough definitive proof from either side.

I didn't bring up this topic because I thought the American government had anything to do with it.I just read that, thought it was very unbelievable but I wanted to see what you guys thought.

Yes there is. The non-crazy side have plenty of proof, from reputable sources and not internet buffoons. They also have common sense on their sidem which is even more valuable in my opinion. Do people think Americans are THAT stupid?! *walks into a trap...* :D

That's how I feel about it too... :)

People who think Americas foreign policy is based on oil are missing the point methinks, it's just a convenient get-out clause for any anti-American argument. Not that it couldn't be true, but there's no way it was the main reason or even a deciding factor for taking action. That kind of logic has it's place in Michael Moore "documentaries" and in Howard Dean's speechbook, cool as that is.

I'm not by any means pro-America, certainly not as a default position. I think Afghanistan merits support though. While the civilian toll was undoubtedly high, there are always casualties in wars. The fact is that Muslim extremists were responsible for 9/11, and were being harboured in Afghanistan by the Taliban. It's perfectly legitimate for America to defend it's interests by invasion and deposition of the Taliban. As a result, we did have civilian casualties, but we also have a new democracy and a move towards development. I'd say it was worth it. Everyone always forgets that the Afghan campaign wasn't American unilateralism, quite a few countries saw the sense in it. The socialist oil argument just doesn't stand up.

There's so such that is 'wrong' with 911.

For me, I think the key to the whole thing lies in WTC7 - the third building that came down **6 hours** after the first two and received little or no media coverage or attention.

Many people don't even know that there was a third skyscraper that collapsed. Check the many vids on the following site and tell me that wasn't a controlled demolition.

    http://www.wtc7.net/
    http://www.wtc7.net/videos.html

I, like many others, have my own theories about what really happened. I think the event is a little too 'fresh' and just like the JKF assisination, the conspiracies only started to catch the public imagination around ten years after the original event.

Woah, a third skyscraper collapsed?Well no-one told me.

The World Trade Center was not just the 2 towers: Many of the surrounding buildings were part of it too.

conspiracy theories are all over the place. But some seem to have more depth and substance than others.

    Check out

    http://www.stopthelie.com

and for those of you with a big pipe to the net download the movie about the Project for the New American Century. (PNAC)

    http://www.stopthelie.com/sound/hijacking_catastrophe.ram

While watching the first few minutes of the movie, consider what these people (and who they are) might do to further their aims.

    It's a little bit scary

    Attempt at tiding up done...

Invasion arguing can be carried on here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=255708

Keep this thread for crazy conspiracies (related to 9/11 helps). The other "fun" is in the other thread. Wheee... Get your seats before they sell out.

Some of this stuff defies belief. There have been theories for years that American notes contain all sorts of references to strange and wonderful things.

See how the new notes supposedly depict the destruction of the twin towers and the Pentagon attack.

Ya gotta love this stuff :D

...Wow, some idiot just noticed Novus Ordo Seclorum now. And he mistranslated it. What a ridiculous website, makes the first one look plausible

In fairness, that's how Novus Ordo Seclorum is usually translated. Probably got it off some other bad conspiracy site.

Not if you google it it's not...
    The first google hit:
    http://www.greatseal.com/mottoes/seclorum.html

    From the above site:
The official English translation of "novus ordo seclorum" is:

"A new order of the ages"

NOTE: "Novus ordo seclorum" was not intended to mean (nor does it correctly translate into) "new world order." Seclorum is plural (new worlds order?). And Thomson said the motto refers to the beginning of a new age – an American era beginning in 1776. The pyramid's rising rows of construction help illustrate this new series of generations.

Also, just folded the dollar bill as instructed, and if anyone can see the "chopped off eagle head/wings" as anything other than just the way the paper folds then I want to borrow their eyes for a day...
