Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

AZ v Sporting - Eurosport now

    This is what you call real football. AZ and Sporting are two of Europe's most exciting teams. AZ are 1-0 up (2-2 on aggregate) atm. They've also hit the post and there's only 15 minutes gone. You can't miss a match like this. :)

    You don't need the big names of Chelsea and Liverpool to watch a match. This is a lot better football to watch. C'mon AZ!!!

    If Sporting were going to score I'm glad it was before half time. The AZ coach will send them out attacking again. Go on the Alkmaar! :)

    2-1 Az shocking defending, this game is an absolute cracker

    3-3 on agg AET looming unless Sporting score again.

    Should be on Setanta if yah dont have Eurossport.

    Yeah, 50/1. Everyone on the betting forums were winning loads on AZ in the UEFA and the bookies would not lower the odds. I then see them play against Rangers and they were unbelievable. When they won their group I got them at 50/1.

    That lad up front for AZ is special , most of their team being sold in summer to the top clubs in Europe.

    Thats stupid alright, Az ans Sporting taking turns in attacking the **** out of each other, Lisbons turn now AZ keeper made 2 superb saves. And now hes broken playing on with i reckon badly bruised leg.

    I never understand managers making substitutions in the last minute. Their could have been 1 minute added on but instead the coach makes a 20 second substitution to add an extra minute injury time.

    which scores more away goals qualifies for the next stage. If this procedure

    goals at home and away, extra time of two periods of 15 minutes shall be
    played at the end of the second leg. If, during extra time, both teams score
    the same number of goals, away goals count double (i.e. the visiting club
    qualifies). If no goals are scored during extra time, kicks from the penalty
    mark (Article 14) determine which club qualifies for the next stage.

    Both of above(yours and mine) is from UEFA website and article is 6.10 meant be used in all compos after 2004(hence the amendment bit).


    Weird anyhoo cracking game, overall Sporting deserved it, how much you not win :(

    That rule is very unfair to a home team in the second match. They of course never get the opportunity to score in extra time as a visiting club :(

    I was wondering about this during the PSV - Milan match a few minutes before the end of regular time at 2-0 (2-2 agg), but was comforted by KdjaC's assertion :)

    Aye it is a ridiculous rule. 3 goals is about average you'd get in 90 minutes. How UEFA expect 3 goals in 30 minutes of extra time is beyond me. AZ not only had to beat them in normal time but in extra time aswell.

    I was watching this from about the 60th minute last night, what a game for excitement. I felt really sorry for AZ but I think Sporting deserved it.
