Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Huge huge day:
    Matches of note:

    Brighton v. Ipswich

Brighton just need a draw to ensure championship status this year.
    Come the **** on Seagulls!
Ipswich need to win, and hope Wigan lose for automatic promotion.
    Possible!
What I'm hoping for is Wigan are up 4 nil at half time or soemthign, so Ipswich give up and let Brighton win :)

    Wigan v. Reading

Automatic promotion for Wigan if they win :)
Reading need to get something to have a chance at playoffs! Then hope that Derby(need a win) or West ham(need a draw) lose. Real chance at the playoffs

    Watford v. West Ham

West Ham need a win, and goal difference might count!
    Watford in mid table mediocraty

    Preston vs. Derby

Preston already qualified for playoffs, but would love a win to get the psychological advantage for the matches. Could knock Derby out of the playoffs
Derby need a draw to gain playoffs!

    Crewe v. Coventry

Crewe need to win at home to have any chance of promotion.
Three points behind Brighton but have the goal difference
Two points behind Gillingham, but on equal goal diff.
They need a win, full stop.

    Nottm Forest v. Gillingham

Notts Forest gone, just fighting for pride.
Have a chance to help take down Gillingham, might want to :)
Gillingham win they stay up, draw will probably get them there two, unless a shock Brighton thrashing of Ipswich!

    COME ON BRIGHTON :)

+ I'd like Wigan to get the automatic spots cause I'd liek some new teams in the premiership.

Aye, wanted to see Wigan up.
Want Ipswich back too tho, after they were cheated out of survival :p
Good for Derby stand a chance to tho, but I don't think they're good enough again yet.

Boy Wolves finnish 9th! They have to get Hoddles sig for next season. No losses in 17 games I think. They'll be rueing all the score draws.

    Mike.

stick some money on wolves being promoted next season, looks like a good one. odds wont be great though.

i hope either preston go up. i hate west ham and ipswich. dont mind derby, nice to see preston win it though.

    Preston - ipswich final.

    Have I found another?

I was watching the game with 7 more Seagulls in McGraths in Drumcondra.

Never a sodding boring season, is it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

    Nope :)

    I'm a semi-Seagull.

During the late 90's I got fed up with United for winning all the time, and I wanted to try find another club to support, one that would never ever play Man Utd.
Brighton were in League Two or something at that stage, and they weer always the team I picked in championship manager to take to the top, so thorugh the game I got to know all the players, their strengtrhs and weakness, then I started following them in real life :)
Still a United fan, but I've a real place in my heart for Brighton :)

Why are you so pleased to see Wigan go up PHB? They've essentially done a Chelsea and bought their way in to the PL.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Because I like to see new teams into the PL.
It bugs me to see Sunderland go up go down, Norwich to come up then go down.
I like the idea of a new team trying to get into the PL and stay there.

They have Ireland's best midfielder, thats good enough for me. ;) It should be interesting though to see who Wigan get with their reputed £40m.

I figure it'll be a huge bunch of cast-offs and stuff from the top clubs, like Scott Parker type players but of less quality.

But at the same time, I figure what they can do is buy all the top players from the championship this year, and any players from relegated clubs.
Any player who preformed exceptionally this year but with a team that wasn't promoted.
They could build up quite an impressive squad I'd say

I'd imagine they might go for Johnson and Ashton for example, or maybe Gera?
They could also pay fees for loan signings from United and Arsenal, might get lucky and get players like Rossi or something
